Petting Zoo Visit

Joe and Ian visited the Taylor Petting Zoo this morning to check out their animals this year. Apparently Ian was hesitant to actually pet any of the items but he enjoyed watching all of the animals.

Playing in a new place

Just a regular day around here- playing, nap, and trying to go use the potty. We decided to check out a playground we read about in the Metro Parent Magazine. It was a nice playground but not huge which has it pros and cons. Ian had fun which is what counts the most.

After we played we grabbed some lunch and headed home. The remainder of the day was just a regular day. Another good day.

Relaxing Fun with Family

Ian and I accomplished lots without having firm plans for the day.

We went to Albion in the morning to deliver the cake pops Caroline and I made in celebration of Molly Campbell to share with our Caster Concepts Family. Evidence of this was the lack of cake pops left at CCI in the afternoon.

Grandpa wasn't at CCI in the morning but that didn't keep Ian from spending some time working.

After work, Ian worked up an appetite so we got some lunch and had a picnic at the park. Soon after a little eating, playing ensued. Cousin Owen and Uncle Andrew came down and joined us after they arrived home with Molly. It got even better when Grandma arrived after work.

Ian took a short nap at Grandma's house before starting to play again. Ian and I went down to deliver a few things to recently expanded Dobbins clan and get some snuggles in with Molly. Owen and Ian played outside a little more, not like they hadn't played enough already.

Back and Grandma & Grandpa's house, Ian played outside with a short break for dinner - he couldn't have been happier. Lots accomplished with only a few plans.

Busy, but still enough time to eat together

Caroline and I were busy working on some surprises (to be revealed at a later date) but we finished our work by about 3:30. Joe and Ian hung out together most of the day between the park, backyard, bike rides, etc. The weather was so nice we decided to have an impromptu outside dinner. Ian really enjoyed hanging out with Aunt Caroline, she's so much cooler than Mom and Dad.

Full of Surpises

Ian and I were planning on traveling to Albion today just to spend some time with Mom and Dad but I found out in the morning that the new addition to our family (my niece) decided to make June 25th her birthday! So instead of going to Albion we went to Jackson and saw the entire family including the newest addition, Molly Campbell.

Owen was very excited to be a big brother.

After we got home and Ian had a chance to take a proper nap we made some of the final changes to his water table.

Caroline is visiting tonight so we can put a few things together to hopefully lighten Stephanie's load when they head home. We're also making a few treats to celebrate Molly's arrival with family and friends. Pictures to come tomorrow.

Gloomy Day

The gloomy day soured some of our fun but not all. Joe and Ian went up to the high school this morning to return some things while I met with a friend from the ISD. After Ian took a long nap we were able to go outside, even though it was chilly, and we worked on some planned upgrades to Ian's water table. We still have a spigot to add that Ian will hopefully be able to work (if not right away it will work on his hand strength). We'll add pictures when that change is made but we were one 'T' short so it will have to wait until we can run to the hardware store. This didn't keep Ian from enjoying the upgrade.

We also went on a walk this evening and Ian was especially interested in singing while we walked. I only caught a little of his singing once we got back but some is better than none.

I think Ian thought that if he put his sunglasses on one last time before bed he would have dreams of playing in the sun and maybe even they would come true tomorrow. We'll have to see.

Start of Summer 2011

Ian's summer vacation has officially started. Unfortunately its started on the most rainy days we've had in weeks. He's sad he can't be outside playing more than he is right now. Today, Ian's first music class of the summer helped break up the day and made not being outside more tolerable for Ian.

Before the official start of summer we enjoyed some summer activities like going to the zoo. Here are some of the pictures Aunt Caroline took. We've also enjoyed a couple of walks to the ice cream store.

I'm going to try very hard to write frequently about our summer adventures. Stay tuned.
