Preparations for Christmas 2010

The last time I posted I also said it has been a long time since the last post. I guess it just symbolizes the point we're at in our lives - very busy. :-) I've uploaded some new pictures to Mobile Me. Check them out here.

Here are a few top pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Ian helped decorate the Christmas tree this year.

Then he applauded his efforts.

Ian enjoyed decorating cookies.

While spending the days at home with Mom and Dad, Ian has been dressing up in Dad's hat and shoes.

Summer Video

I put together a video of all the summer clips.

Updates

It has been a very long time since I've updated Ian's blog so I'm doing lots of updating at once.

Here is video from Ian's Halloween.

We've also been up north to see the fall color since I last wrote a blog post.

We also visited the Chelsea Tree House with Cousin Owen.

I finally put together the video of Joe trying to bat left handed. "Batting Practice"

Here are more pictures from our fall adventures.

New Fall Photos

I don't have enough time to write about our recent adventures so you'll have to write thousands of words of your own from the photos. http://ping.fm/kkg0e

Up North & Toledo Zoo

You would think since I'm on vacation I would have plenty of time to post pictures and write blog posts. Turns out, not so. Ian keeps me busy during the day and in the evening I'm consumed with job hunting. Anyways...we were up north for the first week of August and came back on 9th. Yesterday we decided since the weather was perfect that we would venture out to the Toledo zoo. Ian's favorite part were all the fish. He also enjoyed the goats that licked his hands. There really wasn't any part he did not like. Like usual the are more pictures in his Summer 2010 Photo Album

Vacation Up North

Ian and I are spending the week Up North while Dad is at Band Camp. Dad was here for the weekend and made his way to Comstock Park this morning. Caroline participated in the Harbor Springs Coastal Crawl this morning and Ian enjoyed the beach and water. Below are some of the pictures and the rest are on Ian's Summer 2010 Album.

Bike Ride and Water Fun

Today we headed out to another Metropark, Lower Huron, (Saturday we went to Metro Beach Metropark). We're enjoying discovering all the different metroparks. We've got a few more on our list for sure this summer.

First was the bike ride and Ian fell asleep.

Then it was on to the pool. Ian loved bouncing in the water and "swimming" between Mom and Dad. He was even getting the hang of kicking his legs and when we got home he kept practicing only he was on the carpet in the living room. He has a great imagination already. :-) We only got pictures at the end when he was checking out the splashground but during our next trip we'll make sure to get action water pictures.

Trying out the water slide with Dad's help.

Check out the water that gushes out of the waterslide.

It was well past Ian's lunch time by the time we headed home. Ian was so anxious to eat his "mish mash".

4th of July

Our posts are a little out of order but unfortunately Aunt Stephanie's computer broke and so we couldn't get her 4th of July pictures until just today.

In the afternoon of the 4th we met up with Andrew, Stephanie, and Owen at a splashground in Canton and then had a picnic at a park nearby. Ian jumped right in to checking out the different spays and he enjoyed watching Owen "work" the different toys and then trying to be just like Owen.

Exploring

Monkey See....

Monkey Do.

During dinner Owen was a great "big brother". If Ian got to close to the street, Owen would go over and explain to Ian why he shouldn't go in the street and gently hold his hand and walk with him back to the table. It was such as sight!

As always there are more pictures in Ian's Summer 2010 album.

Petting Zoo

Ian and I visited the Heritage Petting Zoo this morning before it got too hot. It was already pretty hot but we survived and had fun. Ian saw turtles, fish, lamas, sheep, goats, bunnies, chickens, cows, ponies and donkeys. Ian was more exciting about running around the barn, touching the water bottles and closing doors but he occasionally took interest in the animals. We'll definitely be back soon. Here are a few of the pictures but more are on Ian's Summer 2010 album.

Band Concert

This blog entry is a little out of order but the pictures are worth sharing. Everyone spent part of the day at Grandma and Grandpa D's before Mom and Dad left for Vegas. We went for a walk and then we went down to the Albion Community Band Concert. Grandpa bought Ian cookies. Surprise surprise, Ian loved the cookies.

Ian was also having a good time playing with Dad's hat at some point before we went on vacation.

Summer Fun Continues

The entire family has enjoyed fun activities since the summer started. Ian got to spend part of the week at Grandma and Grandpa Dobbins' house (with Aunt Caroline too) while Mom and Dad went to Las Vegas to see the Beatles Cirque du Solei show, "Love". The show was AMAZING! We highly recommend you go see it! We finished out the day and one-half with lots of walking and sightseeing around LV. We took some pictures and you can find them on our Mobile Me album.

Today we went on our longest bike ride, almost 13 miles which took us a little over an hour. Ian did a great job, didn't cry once and even ended up falling asleep. Pictures of him in his chariot are in his Summer 2010 album.

Summer Kick-Off

We're half way through our first full week of summer vacation and Ian has been enjoying our daily walks and playing in his water "table". Mom and Dad have been busy painting their bedroom and they've been doing most of the work while Ian napped or at night. Today after Ian's nap we decided to have our snack outside, picnic style. Here is the start of our summer photo album.

Ian's New Water Table

I built Ian a water table! Joe helped finish it but I did most of the figuring. Ian is really enjoying playing with the water, inside and outside of the water table. More pictures.

Catching up

I'm getting some catching up done this morning and I've created several new videos of Ian. Here they are.

Ian and Couver - The Relationship Begins

Ian's 1st Birthday (I'm quite late with this one)

Owen's 4th Birthday (not too bad with this one, only a week after the party)

Spring Break 2010

We've only been on spring break for 2 days and Ian has been enjoying every minute of it. We've been to the park, played outside, played inside and everywhere in between. Today I filled up a storage container with water and let Ian play with it outside. He enjoyed himself. Here is one picture and there are more on his photo gallery.

Valentine's Weekend

Ian enjoyed a relaxing Valentine's weekend. He wreaked havoc on the house several times but he enjoyed every minute of it. Ian has been inspired by the Olympics and is practicing for the debut of wagon surfing. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! More Pictures

Life after the 1st birthday

Playing with Cousin Owen

Kindermusik Class

It has been quite a while since we last had a post on Ian's blog. Ian is already 13 months old. He hasn't been motivated enough to take his first step. Crawling still gets him where he needs to go and quickly. He's babbling up a storm and starting to make sounds that are increasingly sounding like words such as "duck", "all done" and "yes". Our goal for this week is to make it through the whole week with everyone being healthy. :-)
